ShiftHappens

First off this is a new site that I found through Cool Cat Teacher and I think it has LOADS of potential to be used as a teaching tool in any curricular area. It is called Slideshare and it is similar to YouTube in that you can search the site for different presentations.

The presentation that I have attached is based on the ideas that the world is changing dramatically right now and that education needs to recognize this. It is US based but that doesn't mean it doesn't apply to Canadian teachers or even South African teachers for that matter.

Take a look it is very interesting.

Another interesting Slideshare show that I found on Educational Technology is the following:

We have shared a similar rendition of the ShiftHappens slideshow with teachers in a workshop. It is very iteresting. It was originally created by Karl Fisch who remixed content from David Warlick, Thomas Friedman, Ian Jukes, Ray Kurzweil and more. Sine he posted it, it has been adpated, glossed and redistributed world wide. A great message lies within. Talk about issues of Globalization.

So here is my question :-)
What's the Copyright on this site and what does it mean? Do we pay attention to it, bring it to our students' attention or ignore? The whole Copyright premise is being challenged in this digital world. Your thoughts?
